Making Assembled Parts Temporarily Transparent to Ease Working in Inventor 2013

Often when working with large or complex assemblies in Inventor larger parts can get in the way.

You can completely hide a part by turning off its visibility. Select the part and right click drag to the 5 o’clock position. This part is still in your model tree so you can easily turn its visibility back on.

Sometimes though you don’t want to make a part invisible but just transparent. Again if you select the part, this time right click and un-tick “enabled”. This makes the part transparent and also un-selectable. To make this part opaque and selectable right click on the part in the model tree and re-tick “enabled”.
