Often when rendering in Inventor people use a simple Ground Plane reflection to add a little something to the render.
If you take your models into Showcase to do more realistic renderings, create alternatives or animations you can’t simply turn on a ground plane reflection.
A nice trick is to create a flat part in Inventor. Then import this into your showcase file. Set the material to something reflective. Showcase materials (‘privacy glass’ especially) give you lots of control over their properties and you can alter them to change your reflection.
Note that your reflection won’t show in Hardware Rendering, you will need to turn on ‘Ray Tracing’.
