Question
Why doesn’t my Dwfx file display in my web browser?
Answer
There are some issues where DWFx files will not view with a supported Web Browser.
If you have errors and problems viewing DWFx files generated by AutoCAD and Revit, check the following settings are enabled.
Allow Cookies
In Internet Explorer, click Tools Internet Options. The General tab is displayed by default.
In the Internet Options dialog box click the Privacy tab.
Move the slider to select the setting that allows cookies. The Medium setting is acceptable because it restricts but does not completely block first-party cookies.
Enable ActiveX Controls
In Internet Explorer, click Tools Internet Options.
On the Internet Options dialog box, click the Security tab.
On the ActiveX control settings, select Enable.
If Autodesk Design Review has been installed but you still cannot view DWF files, ensure that Run ActiveX control and plug-ins is enabled by selecting Enable on the Run ActiveX control and plug-ins setting.
Allow any Web Site to Run Scripts and ActiveX Controls on Your Computer
In Internet Explorer, click the Tools Internet Options.
Click the Advanced tab and then in the Settings list, scroll to the Security section.
Select the Allow active content to run in files on My Computer check box, and then click OK.
Allow Pop-up Windows
Pop-up windows must be enabled for the web client to work correctly.
In Internet Explorer, click Tools Internet Options.
On the Internet Options dialog box click the Privacy tab.
Select Disable on the Use Pop-up Blocker setting.
This assumes using internet explorer, if using Chrome, Firefox or Safari, then go to the appropriate settings dialogue of your browser.
