Question
How do I add a new type of connection to Plant 3D?
Answer
The endcode of a pipe or fitting determines the type of connection to be made and the fasteners that are required to make a connection between fittings. For example, the endcode FL indicates a flanged connection, SW indicates a socket weld connection.
The list of endcodes that are known to Plant 3D is stored in the user support file EndCodesConfig.xml. This is a system file that is not project specific.
To add new endcodes to this file, or to manage the list of existing endcodes, enter the command PLANTENDCODES at the AutoCAD command line.
To define the fasteners that are required to make the new connection, enter Project Setup and navigate to the Joint Settings page where you can add a new simple joint or compound joint as required.
