Insulation and Pipeline Tag - P&ID

Question

In AutoCAD P&ID I need to include insulation as an optional part of my pipeline tag, which has the following format: <Size>-<Spec>-<Service>-<Number>-<Insulation>. However, if I leave the insulation blank, the pipeline tag shows -? at the end. How can I avoid this?

Answer

The easiest way around this is to create a new Pipeline Annotation for un-insulated lines that is formed from individual pipeline property fields rather than the default "TargetObject.Tag" used by the standard Pipeline Tag Annotation. Use the new annotation to annotate lines with no insulation and the default annotation for insulated lines.
