Plant 3D drawing shows wireframes geometry

Viewing a Plant 3D drawing in regular AutoCAD shows wireframe geometry. Why? How do I fix it?

Answer

Although Plant 3D is built on AutoCAD, it uses custom blocks to represent Plant 3D components that display as wireframe objects in standard AutoCAD. There are two ways to make these blocks viewable in regular AutoCAD.

The simplest soultion is to use the EXPORTTOAUTOCAD command from within Plant 3D and export the Plant drawing to a standard AutoCAD drawing. The new drawing contains only standard AutoCAD geometry without any Plant 3D specific extensions.

Alternatively, an AutoCAD Plant 3D object-enabler is available for installation into a regular AutoCAD evironment to enable the viewing of Plant 3D extensions within AutoCAD.
