Embed Curtain Walls in Revit Architecture

Question

Is it possible to embed a Curtain Wall into a Masonry Wall so that the Curtain Wall is visible and the Masonry Wall gets cut?

Answer

There are two ways to do this. You can draw the Curtain Wall inside the Masonry Wall (Revit will then give you a warning that one wall is embedded inside another). On the Geometry Panel on the Ribbon, select the Cut Geometry tool, select the Masonry Wall to be cut and then select the Curtain Wall. Don’t forget to follow the prompts on the Status Bar during this procedure.

Quicker method: When you select Curtain Wall from the Type Selector, go to type properties and tick the Automatically Embed option box. The warning will not appear if this method is used.
