Inventor Drawing Capacity/Performance 2012

Inventor 2012 now adds multicore support to the drawing environment.

A new 2012 option on the Inventor Applications Options > Drawing tab is ‘Enable Background Updates’.

This is on by default when you install your software and it switches the display of raster drawing views ON/OFF. 

With this ON, ‘raster views’ are displayed more quickly and increases your productivity/performance when you work with large assembly drawings. You can review a drawing or create drawing annotations on the ‘raster view’ before the precise calculation of the drawing view has finished. The actual precise drawing views are calculated in the background while you work with raster views. You will notice green highlighting of the view corners while the view is being calculated.
