For the next Back to Basics video I’ve shown the preferred technique for merging 2 or more Civil 3D Surfaces.

Some of you may already use Extract Objects in the Surface contextual menu to extract a surface outer boundary, which is a perfectly acceptable tool but the extracted boundary will be a static polyline. Using the Paste Surfacecommand in Edit Surface will ensure that the boundary between all merged surfaces will remain dynamic.
