Previous versions of AutoCAD Electrical used to have to open up the default_cat.mdb in order to be able to read and apply filters. If your database had every single manufacturer installed, you might be waiting a few seconds before you could clear the filters.

In AutoCAD Electrical, they have made the Catalog Browser search based which basically means that it doesn’t have to read the database first before being able apply a filter.

On first use of the new Catalogue Browser you will have to define your filters and your favourites’ but as you add your components toFavourites, it remembers previous searches therefore producing faster search results.
