AutoCAD Electrical-Malformed String On Input

A few customers have reported a “malformed string on input” after Windows has performed some automatic updates particularly Windows 7. This may be coincidental but the issue is very easy to resolve without the requirement to reinstall or repair.

Browse to the following directory:

Windows 7/8/10

C:\Users\<<your user name>>\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\AutoCAD Electrical 201*\R**.*\enu\Support\User

Delete the lastproj.fil file

The lastproj.fil is a text file that holds a list of the projects that are current in the project manager. AutoCAD Electrical will recreate a blank one when it is restarted.
