Changing the grid display in AutoCAD

How can I change the square grid displayed in model space back to the old dotted style?

Answer

From within the “DRAFTING SETTINGS” dialogue box, which can be opened by either right mouse click on the grid icon or button in the status line and selecting “SETTINGS”, or from the drop down menu “TOOLS” and “DRAFTING SETTINGS”. In the top right hand side of the “SNAP and GRID” tab you have “GRID STYLE” you can display the gird as dots in any or all of the following, 2D model space, Block editor, or Sheet / layout space.
