Anyone who has attended a Revit MEP course at Cadline will know all about filters & view templates. In fact I expect these tools come in handy for Architects and Structural Engineers as well. So for the electrical people amongst you I have written a document explaining about how we can use display filters to show different types of Cable Tray within an Electrical Project. This enables us to differentiate between a standard plain channel tray from a basket mesh component. Once we have shown the different system types we can then save this display as a view template and apply the drawing configuration to multiple views on different floors.
The view template (with filters applied) then shows all basket cable tray with a cross hatch for easy identification on any view we specify. (Along with all the category controls, disciplines and sub disciplines etc..) Thereby saving time and minimising the risk of errors.
