Dialogue boxes missing when selecting Open/Save - AutoCAD

Question

When I select the Open or Save commands, the dialogue boxes that would normally appear are missing instead the instructions or options appear on the AutoCAD Command line? How do I get them back?

Answer

Cancel any active commands and enter FILEDIA on the command line, it will return a value of 0, meaning it is currently set to the off option; in response, enter the value 1 on the command line, effectively switching this function back on and all will return as usual.
