Creating a New Layer State - AutoCAD

Question

I often have to establish the same layer conditions during the process of working on a drawing, for example, showing just the Architectural/Building components without any layers relating to Furniture or Text etc...or perhaps displaying items from different disciplines such as Heating or air conditioning. Is there a way to save these layer conditions so that they can be recalled later?

Answer

It’s often beneficial to establish a desired layer condition and then create a Layer State. To Create a New Layer State or Manage Existing Layer states, select the drop-down on the ribbons’ Layer Panel. Layer States can record all of the layer conditions that existat the time they are created, including Viewport Over-rides. Use the Restore option or drop-down mentioned earlier to apply a Layer State. Layer States can also be exported and then imported by others.
