In Revit 2011 you cannot tag rooms through a linked file. The following is a list of object types you cannot tag through a linked Revit project file: Rooms, Areas, Zones, Spaces, Keynotes, Beam Systems, Floor Span Symbols, Path reinforcement span symbols, Area reinforcement span symbols.
