Question

What are Projected edges Associative?

Answer

Any sketches within a part which use projected geometry from that same part retain their associativity to the part edges. If however, you are working in the assembly context and you are creating a sketch on one part by projecting the edge from another part, the projected sketch geometry may or may not retain its associativity depending on some settings. This ability is very powerful allowing full bi-directional associative sketches of edges or face loops to be passed from part to part. This setting is in the Assembly tab entitled. "Enable Associative Edge/Loop geometry projection during in-place modelling". When these sketches are projected from part to part, the resulting occurrences in the browser are called "reference sketches".
