The WDR file is a text file which contains generic company standard ratings values. It is accessible when you Insert/Edit Component in both the schematic and panel layout and where a component has a RATING# attribute.

Multiple *.WDR files can be created. AutoCAD Electrical will look for a generic default file called WD_RATINGS.WDR stored in the AutoCAD Electrical support directory. However, you may also create a project-specific file with the same name and path as the project with the .WDR extension ({project name}.WDR) and this would be contained within the project directory. You can also have Family-specific files named for the Family code of the component with the *.WDR extension. As an example, if the component has the family code "PB" for push buttons and a file called PB.WDR exists within one of the support paths, this will be the ratings file that will be displayed when you select the "Family" button.

    e.g.

The following naming convention and search sequence are used:

    • <project name>.WDR is located in the same folder as the .wdp file for the active project.
    • WD_RATINGS.WDR is located in the same folder as the .wdp file for the active project.
    • WD_RATINGS.WDR using search sequence "A" (Note 1)

    The following formats are supported:

    • Single rating value per line
    • "|" character delimits consecutive RATINGx value assignments. For example, an entry "30A|60A" would put "30A" into the first RATINGx attribute and "60A" into the RATING(x+1) attribute.
    • “;” any text after the “;” character is ignored and considered as a comment e.g. “2A ;Amps”

Note 1: Subdirectory search sequence "A"
