Have you ever wondered how you could change the colour interface of Inventor, but couldn’t find a way apart from changing the colour scheme on the Applications options? Well, there is a tool hidden away in Inventor SDK, called the Color Scheme Editor which allows you to change the colour of various aspects in Inventor.
This tool can be accessed from the below file path and installing the usertools.msi :
C:\Users\Public\Documents\Autodesk\Inventor 2018\SDK
In the newly created folder, navigate to the InventorColorSchemeEditor.exe
UserTools> ColorSchemeEditor >Bin> InventorColorSchemeEditor.exe Before editing any colours, please remember to make a backup of your registry:
Backup> Registry Export
I would also suggest making a back-up of your Windows Registry too and make a backup of your settings on Inventor Application Options.
DISCLAIMER: This article contains information about editing the registry. Before you edit the registry, make sure you understand how to create a backup and restore it if a problem occurs (Microsoft Link), as this can render your system inoperable. You edit the registry at your own risk.Using the Color Scheme Editor is quite simple and intuitive to use.
See below gif demonstrating how to change the dimension colour.
