Model Based Definition, or MBD has been extended to assemblies in Inventor 2018.1

Autodesk have recently launched a subscription update for Inventor 2018.1. The update should be available to all subscription customers from your Autodesk Desktop App, or via your Autodesk Account.

One of the updates to Inventor 2018, was the addition of Model Based Definition (MBD) for part files. The 2018.1 Subscription release extends this capability to now include Assemblies as well. This gives users more options when it comes to communicating designs. It's not the end of 2D drawings, but is certainly going to start reducing our reliance on them. An interesting note, is that your 3D annotations can be imported into 2D drawings, saving valuable time and reducing repetitive tasks.

Check out the video below for more on this great new enhancement.
