    Sharing the Pallet.

Once the pallet has been created, to standardise drawings.

The “Pallet” can be shared with other members of the CAD team, the important thing to remember is the location of both the file containing the “Blocks” and the “Pallet” file (*.XTP) must be saved to a “Public” location so that they can be accessed by all members of the CAD team.

Since the “Block” does not reside in the “Pallet”, and the “Block” icon in the “Pallet” is just a link to the file containing the “Block”. The Block is inserted from the file in which it was created, right mouse clicking on the “Block” to check the file location of the “Block”.

    Export

To share the “Pallet” with other members of the CAD department, the “Pallet” must first be “Exported”.

To “Export” a “Pallet”, right mouse click on the “Pallet”, from the displayed menu select “Customise Pallets”, to display the “Customise” dialogue box as shown in Figure 1.

Right mouse click on the “Pallet” to be exported, from the menu select “Export”, specify the folder location of the “Pallet”. (Again making sure that all members of the CAD team have at least read only access rights to the folder location).

This will create a file with the same name as the “Pallet” with a file extension XTP.

    Import

To “Import” a “Pallet”, right mouse click on the “Pallet”, from the displayed menu select “Customise Pallets”, to display the “Customise” dialogue box.

From the “Customise” dialogue box right mouse click in the left pane to display the menu, and select “Import”, as shown in Figure 2.

Navigate to the saved folder location containing the *.XTP file, select the required *.XTP file, select “Open” to load the “Pallet” and close the “Customise” dialogue. The required “Pallet” has now been loaded.
