AutoCAD Electrical 2018 – Renaming a Project

This can’t be done within AutoCAD Electrical and must be done externally within Windows Explorer or within Autodesk Vault but the project must be completely checked into the vault

If within Windows Explorer:

1. Close the project if shown in the AutoCAD Electrical Project Manager 

2.Browse to the directory in Windows

3.Rename the folder to the new name of the project

4.Open the directory and rename the **.wdp file to the name of the new project

5.The *.AEPX can be renamed although this will actually be recreated if deleted (*.aepx=AutoCAD           Electrical project exchange file)

If within Autodesk Vault: 

1. Browse to the project within Vault Explorer
2. Right click over the project and rename the folder
3. Right click over the *.wdp file and rename to the same name as the new project folder
4. Right click over the *.aepx file and rename to the same name as the new project folder
