Revit 2018 - Quick Tip: Hide an Entire Category

A Quick Method to Hide an Entire Category.

There are a number of ways to control the visibility of components in Revit,

However a useful short cut to hide all items of a particular type, is to first select the item. In Figure 1 below a window has been selected.

Once the item has been selected, type in “VH”. All items in that category are now hidden. As in Figure 2

If more than one category needs to be hidden, select one of each type i.e. a door and a window then type-in “VH”. Both categories are now hidden. As in Figure 3.
