Since Autodesk launched the "Desktop App", the "Communication Centre" is no longer used to notify users of product updates.
The good news, is that you can still use it to subscribe to useful blogs and even to twitter feeds, using RSS. One of the best features, is that you can save favourites, which you can reference later.
Subscribe to your favourite Cadline blog using the steps below.
Setup:
Click on the little satellite dish near the top right hand corner of your Inventor window. Next, click on the "settings" icon. Click on "Balloon Notification", ensure that the "Enable Balloon Notifications..." tickbox is checked, make sure that you check "RSS feeds"
On the RSS feeds tab, click "Add", then paste in the feed you want to subscribe to (more details of RSS feeds below)
Choose the frequency that you would like to sync the feeds, on the "General" tab. You can set the number of items to display, by editing the RSS feeds page.
Favorites:
To Save a Favourite, simply click on the "Star" icon next to the article. The article is now saved to your favourites area.
