You may have noticed that when you open a project in AutoCAD Electrical, sometimes a random drawing is added into the Project Manager, and you might wonder where it comes from?
Well, the AutoCAD Electrical version 2016 and newer Projects are supported by the Unicode encoding format, while versions prior to 2016 are supported by the ANSI format, which is why older versions have issues supporting projects from the newer versions.
A workaround to this issue is to open the .wdp file for the project in question and save the file in the ANSI format.
Please note that it is not possible to set the encoding format via the AutoCAD Electrical interface, to a preferred default format, as this is pre-set by Autodesk.
