(NASDAQ:ADSK) launched the company’s 2013 portfolio of design, engineering and entertainment software, including the latest design and creation suites. The suites provide expanded toolsets and new automated suites workflows for building, entertainment, engineering, construction, infrastructure, product, plant and factory design. The 2013 design suites connect the desktop to Autodesk 360, a cloud computing platform that enables customers to dramatically improve the way they work by providing the ability to store, edit and share their designs and access virtually infinite computing power anytime, anywhere.

The new Autodesk 2013 design and creation suites feature in-product, customizable one-click workflows and improved interoperability, making it much easier to connect design and visualization tasks. This gives users the ability to better communicate their design intent visually. In addition, the 2013 suites offer a consistent user experience across the software in the suite and in Autodesk 360 -- making it easier to learn new tools and services, and adopt them in the design workflow.

Subscription customers now have up to 25 MB of storage and between 100 and 500 Autodesk Cloud Units per user, based on the suite edition they purchased. Autodesk 2013 Design and Creation Suites

The new Autodesk design suites are geared especially for manufacturers and include Autodesk Product Design Suite and Autodesk Factory Design Suite. The new suites provide a broad range of cloud services to help manufacturers more efficiently design, build and deliver better products faster and at reduced costs. The new Autodesk Simulation family of products delivers a faster, more accurate and flexible approach to predicting, optimizing and validating designs earlier in the design process.

Autodesk Design Suites Enhance Interoperability, Collaboration

  • Autodesk Simulation CFD – Up to a 34 times improvement in overall solve time, while Autodesk Inventor Fusion enhancements include the ability to create associative internal and external fluid volumes, the ability to detect interferences, and automatic model simplification.
  • Autodesk Simulation Moldflow and Autodesk Moldflow Insight WS – Allows designers and manufacturers involved in injection molding simulation to address the trend towards lightweight designs. Autodesk Announces 2013 Digital Entertainment Creation Software Portfolio

 
New Releases Remove Technical Barriers to Creativity With Enhanced Workflows and Toolsets

SAN RAFAEL, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Autodesk, Inc., (NASDAQ:ADSK) announced the 2013 versions of its Digital Entertainment Creation (DEC) software and suites, used by leading artists working in film, game development, television and advertising. The new releases improve consistency and interoperability between applications, making it even easier for artists to take advantage of powerful new and enhanced creative features.

Autodesk extended its suites offering with the new Autodesk Entertainment Creation Suite Ultimate edition. This suite contains both Autodesk 3ds Max 2013 and Autodesk Maya 2013 animation software, together with Autodesk Softimage 2013 3D animation and visual effects software, Autodesk Mudbox 2013 3D sculpting and painting software and Autodesk MotionBuilder 2013 real-time virtual production and motion capture editing software.

  • Live character streaming between MotionBuilder and Maya provides an efficient way to previsualize a retargeting result in the final Maya scene before transferring the data between applications.
  • More consistent hotkeys make it easier for Maya artists to navigate viewports in the 3D suite applications, and help artists familiar with 3ds Max to get up to speed with Softimage faster.
  • The enhanced, consistent F-Curve Editor within 3ds Max, Maya, Softimage and MotionBuilder now offers consistent functionality, helping animators transition between these applications more smoothly.
  • Autodesk HumanIK Interoperability with CAT (Character Animation Toolkit) provides a single-step, round-trip workflow to transfer 3ds Max CAT bipedal characters between 3ds Max, Maya and MotionBuilder.

Autodesk 2013 Software Helps Power Creativity, Enable Collaboration and Manage Data Complexity

Midas Technology and CADline Unite Under One Brand

From 1st February 2012 we are bringing together Midas Technology and CADline under one brand name, CADline Ltd.

Midas has enjoyed great success as the dedicated Manufacturing division of CADline but recent industry and technology changes have resulted in the need for greater multi-disciplinary integration and we have therefore decided to unite under one brand.

CADline, as an Autodesk Platinum Partner, can now offer our manufacturing customers even greater benefits such as access to world leading technical expertise, advanced notification of all Autodesk news, involvement in Beta programmes and invitations to exclusive customer events.

We are maintaining a dedicated manufacturing solutions website www.cadlinemanufacturing.co.uk to address your industry needs and hopefully by now, you are already using our industry leading technical portal www.cadlinecommunity.co.uk. DWF Project Surfer V2 is now available from the CADline Community.

DWF project Surfer now creates the hyperlinks required for navigation in the DWF file format silently without the requirement to go into each and every drawing within the project therefore significantly reducing the time taken to create the intelligent hyperlinked DWF.


Autodesk Excellence in Infrastructure Competition

Get Recognized as a Leader in Transforming the World’s Infrastructure

www.infrastructure-excellence.com is hosting the inaugural competition showcasing Excellence in Infrastructure. The winners will be given over $25,000 in prizes by our generous competition sponsors. The competition is open to everyone in the Infrastructure industry to highlight the best projects done in 2011/2012.

We are looking for the best usage of technology to plan, design, build or manage Infrastructure projects.  Project types may include, but are not limited to: Transportation (roads and highways, rail, airports, bridges…), Land development (commercial sites, subdivisions, public parks and recreation…), Urban planning, Water related (distribution, water resources, dams and levees, wastewater), and Energy (electric and gas distribution, electric transmission and substation design).

Entries will be judged on project complexity, innovative use of technology, sustainability, and a clear articulation of the benefits of model-based workflows including, integrated analysis, visualization and simulation techniques.

From the submitted entries a panel of expert judges will select three winners. Winners will have the opportunity to be recognized at Autodesk University 2012 conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.

CADline and Midas wish all its customers a very Happy Christmas and New Year.

  
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your business and loyalty throughout the year and also the tremendous support you have given us. We were delighted to be awarded Platinum status by Autodesk in November and we could not have done it without your help and support. I would like to particularly thank those of you who submitted fantastic references and gave us some great survey scores!

It is from this premier platform that we can offer you even greater commercial, technical and industry expertise. Our teams are better connected to Autodesk and we have an even greater insight into future technology and best practice.

We have also had a tremendous year with our web GIS portfolio of products. With the addition of Richard Robertson to lead the team and take these products to market we have seen significant uptake in the public sector and a growing requirement in the private sector. We have decided again to make a donation to a charity rather than send Christmas cards. Our chosen charity for the second year running is Operation Smile and we have bought four smiles to help provide life-changing cleft surgery for four children. Operation Smile provides free surgery to repair cleft lips, cleft palates and other facial deformities for children around the globe.
