Trevor Clayton's Blog
Hi my name is Trevor Clayton and I am the Industry Specialist responsible for AutoCAD Civil 3D and AutoCAD Map 3D, within the Construction Team at CADline.
I have been in the Construction Industry since leaving school back in the early eighties, initially trained at The Royal School of Military Engineering as a heavy plant operator; I then spent a number of years working for local government firstly within a construction and maintenance team, dealing with road construction and maintenance, then as an Assistant Engineer.
I then moved to The Transport Research Laboratory as an Assistant Engineer (Highways) in the Investigations and Risk Management Group- dealing with legal issues and liability claims where the condition of the highway was brought into question, it was here that I got involved with Laser Scanning and its application within the construction and investigation fields.
I then became a Projects Director for a specialist Laser scanning company involved in site surveys of all types, from fuel refineries in the USA through to Topo surveys of brown field sites in the Uk. Finally moving to CADline some 4 years ago to take up my current role which involves pre and post sales technical support, training, and on- site consultancy.
