It is two weeks since we returned from the Autodesk University and I have just about managed to catch up on my sleep. On my return I received an email form the AEC data management specialist with three bits of news that support my proposition that next year will be all about the data. There is a new Vault plugin for Microstation and an improved integration between Revit and Vault which allows a user to publish sheets to Vault which remain linked and can take advantage of Vault’s version management.
We also have seen a preview of an updated browser version of Buzzsaw with the much needed ability to view Revit models including individual views and sheets as well as the 3D model.

We have also launched three new Community apps all of which have been requested by our Community members. The AutoCAD Electrical Localiser is an essential add on for anyone using AutoCAD Electrical in Northern Europe and the Inventor Bolt Updater will make anyone who works with complicated assemblies life easier. The Network Licence Control is one for your licence administrator. With the release of the deign suites this year Autodesk network licence management has become a lot more complicated and many of our customers are struggling to make sure that the right users have access to the right software. The Licence Control is a graphical editor for the FlexLM options file which in turn controls product access and other licence behaviour. Anyone who uses Autodesk network licences will find this utility useful.

We will be running a reduced service between Christmas and New Year in the office and so you may find contributions to the Community are intermittent. However the site will continue to be live and we will be keeping an eye on the forums and moderating your new threads and comments. So Merry Christmas from everyone here at CADline and Midas and we look forward to bringing you more Community updates, apps and functionality in the New Year.
